Under the supervision of the Head of Liaison / Health / Social Support Programs, the liaison nurse works collaboratively with health personnel in the South and North, users and families. It facilitates the proper functioning of treatment and care plans while making the necessary connections between hospitals and community organizations.

Summary of tasks:

  • Planning and booking of transport to the North;
  • Support medical follow-up for clinics and arrivals (evening and weekend);
  • See nursing follow-up of certain social cases on evenings and weekends;
  • Respect the confidential nature of any information about users;
  • Organize and coordinate health care for the North user before, during and after their stay in Montreal;
  • Proactively coordinate all aspects of patient care while in Montreal;
  • Provide medications for clients;
  • Post-op follow-up, as required;
  • Follow up with Medevac / Skedevac;
  • Refer client, if necessary;
  • Inform the team leader of any problematic situation.


  • DEC. Or BACC. In nursing;
  • Must hold a License from the Ordre des infirmières et infirmiers du Québec (OIIQ);
  • Nordic experience (asset);
  • 3-5 years of nursing experience;
  • Bilingual; English, French (spoken-written);
  • Knowledge of Inuit culture (asset);
